£1bn data centre planned for Pinewood Studios site

Pinewood Group has lodged outline plans with Buckinghamshire Council for a £1 billion data centre on land south of its studios.
The 55,000 sq m scheme would be accompanied by a 60-acre nature reserve, a six-acre community garden and a learning space. The site lies within the Slough Availability Zone, an area recognised by the Government as a location for nationally significant infrastructure.
Chief executive David Conway said the proposal responds to the critical infrastructure needs the Government has identified, and that the investment would create jobs and bring wider benefits to the local community through the new green spaces and learning facilities.
The council is targeting a decision on the application by the end of 2025. If outline consent is granted, a detailed reserved matters application will follow.
