Farm with Striking Six-Bedroom Home for Sale

Savills is selling Over Hall, a 66-hectare farm estate at Colne Engaine near Colchester, Essex, with a guide price of £4.75 million for the whole. The property is also available in five lots, starting from £450,000.

At the centre of the estate is a six-bedroom, three-bathroom Regency-era house dating from 1831, set between the Colne and Stour valleys. It comes with a swimming pool, tennis court, stables and landscaped gardens. The estate also includes two cottages and around 160 acres of arable land, grassland and woodland.

Gi D’Angibau, director in Savills’ rural agency team in Essex, described Over Hall as one of the county’s most charming small estates. She suggested the cottages could suit multigenerational living, staff accommodation or letting, and noted that Kelvedon, Marks Tey, Halstead and Colchester are within easy reach for rail services to London.

• Lot 4: arable, grassland and woodland, 18.1 hectares, guide £450,000

• Lot 5: arable and woodland, 20.69 hectares, guide £500,000
