Savills Land Deal Set to Help Deliver 180 Homes

Hopkins Homes, East Anglia's largest housebuilder, has bought an 18.8-acre site in Loddon, near Norwich, which received full planning consent last year for 180 homes. The sale was handled by the Savills development team in Norfolk.
The scheme, to be called Loddon Rise, is in line with the Greater Norwich Local Plan and sits to the south east of the town next to existing housing. It will offer one to four-bedroom bungalows, apartments and houses, including 59 affordable homes split between shared ownership and affordable rent, plus nine self-build plots. The homes are designed to reflect Loddon's traditional architecture.
Planned features include a children's play area, public open spaces linked by a woodland walk, cycle parking and new tree planting. Existing hedgerows will be retained and enhanced, and the developer will fund bus stop improvements and the widening of an existing cycle path.
Richard Shuldham, associate director at Savills in Norfolk, says the site offers an opportunity for sustainable growth and a meaningful contribution to local housing supply. Duncan Jackson, managing director of Hopkins Homes, says the scheme will create an attractive, pedestrian-friendly environment with plenty of green space.
