School of Rock Banks First UK Location

A former Barclays Bank building dating from 1902 at 2 York Street, Twickenham, is set to become a London branch of the School of Rock music school franchise.
The location is close to Eel Pie Island, historically associated with bands such as the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and David Bowie, and the school hopes to build on that musical heritage.
School of Rock is the largest music school franchise in the United States and has grown into 16 countries over two decades, using a performance-based teaching approach. The Twickenham school will be run by Bob Jones, who previously led the franchise’s New York City branch to record enrolment and revenue. It will compete locally with the British School of Rock in Orleans Park.
The franchise plans to open 11 locations across the UK.
