Popular Gretna Wedding Venue, The Gables Hotel, Hits the Market for Offers Over £1m

Colliers' Hotels Agency team is marketing The Gables Hotel in Gretna, inviting offers above £1,000,000 for the established wedding, corporate and leisure venue. The firm suggests recent interest rate cuts add to the appeal for investors.
Built in 1917 and considerably extended since, the hotel has 31 en-suite bedrooms, including five four-poster bridal rooms, a suite with a whirlpool bath, and a mix of doubles, twins and family rooms. There is scope for nine further rooms within the existing building, subject to consent. It sits in landscaped gardens with parking for 50 cars.
Facilities include a lounge bar across three areas seating 70, the Borders Restaurant for up to 40 diners, the Dovetail Suite (16 covers), the Garden Room Suite (22 covers) and the Galloway Suite, which can host up to 80 guests for weddings and events.
The hotel is a mile from the M74 and close to the M6 and A75, giving good access to Glasgow, Dumfries, Carlisle and north-west England. Around 5,000 couples marry in Gretna each year, supporting steady demand.
Robert Smithson of Colliers said the hotel continues to trade strongly, with management focusing on growing room revenue and relying less on food and drink. He described it as a rare chance to buy a business already delivering solid returns, with further growth possible through extra rooms and brand partnerships.
