Exceptional development site in popular village

Greenslade Taylor Hunt is marketing the former Nether Stowey Village Hall on Lime Street, in the Quantock Hills, as a small residential development site, guided at £275,000.

The hall, which is over 100 years old, closed in 2022 because it was no longer fit for purpose. In October 2024 Somerset Council granted outline planning permission to demolish it and build four open market homes, with parking and improved access. The current scheme shows two linked detached and two semi-detached three-bedroom houses, and there may be scope to vary the design subject to planning.

The sale is being made on behalf of the village hall and recreation ground community interest group, which will put the proceeds towards a new hall.

Nether Stowey sits just off the A39 with straightforward access to Junction 23 of the M5, making it convenient for commuters to Bristol and Exeter.
