Greenslade Taylor Hunt reports another strong result at its latest property and land auction, held at Batch Country House, Lympsham, where a mix of land and commercial units was offered.

A highlight was a single parcel of woodland of about 6.75 acres (2.73 hectares) on the edge of the Chew Valley near Hinton Blewett, containing mature and semi-mature deciduous trees and offering wide countryside views. It sold for £106,000, well above its £60,000 guide.

A 7.18-acre (2.91-hectare) parcel at Shepton Mallet fetched £104,000, and a larger block of farmland at Nailsea sold for £324,000. All the land offered was sold, with prices ahead of expectations.

The next auction will move to Sedgemoor Auction Centre at Junction 24, North Petherton, which already hosts the firm’s livestock and antiques sales, on Thursday 25 September.
