Livv Housing Group Unveils 36 New Affordable Rent Homes in Merseyside

Construction Industry News Magazine7 October 2025

Residents have started moving into Ash Grove, a new scheme of 36 affordable rent homes in Prescot, Merseyside, built by Knowsley-based housing association Livv Housing Group.

The development combines semi-detached and terraced properties: 14 three-bedroom houses, ten two-bedroom houses, ten two-bedroom flats and a pair of four-bedroom houses. Three new streets have been laid out, named Eden Way, Fielding Court and Gladewood Gardens. The land was previously grassland. Prescot town centre, local schools, Whiston Hospital and Prescot station are all within walking distance, and Shakespeare North Playhouse and Knowsley Safari are close by.

Liverpool contractor Quinn Developments NW Ltd built the homes, and Homes England provided grant funding.

Yvonne Westhead-Fyles, Livv's Director of Development, said the scheme meets a need for affordable housing in Prescot and brings together families, couples and working people in one neighbourhood. She described it as an example of turning underused land into safe and welcoming places.

Peter Quinn, Managing Director of Quinn Developments NW Ltd, said close collaboration with Livv had been central to the project and that, as a local firm, it was pleased to help provide good-quality homes for Prescot.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, welcomed the contribution to local housing need, especially the two- and four-bedroom homes.

Homes England's Director of Affordable Housing Grants, Shahi Islam, said increasing the supply of affordable homes remained a core aim for the agency, and that Ash Grove showed how it works with partners such as Livv.

Ash Grove forms part of Livv's wider programme across the Liverpool City Region and the North West, and brings the number of new homes it has completed in Knowsley to 381 between April 2023 and September 2025.
